Prescott Anti-ICE Protest

In Prescott, Arizona, at least 800 people gathered today, Saturday, January 31, 2026, between Gurley Street and Montezuma Street in downtown Prescott for a national “ICE Out” protest opposing federal immigration enforcement actions. The demonstration was part of a coordinated series of protests across the United States responding to recent controversial immigration enforcement operations, including fatal shootings by federal agents in Minneapolis that have drawn widespread public outcry.

Protesters expressed frustration over increased actions by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and related agencies, citing concerns about the use of force, federal immigration tactics, and accountability. Many attendees carried signs with slogans including “ICE Out,” “Chinga tu Maga,” “We Want Snow Not ICE,” “DEI is America’s Superpower,” and “Resist Fascism.”

A band provided music for the crowd, and a woman played a flute as people moved around the Yavapai County Courthouse. Later in the rally, participants gathered in front of the state building, chanting “ICE Out,” “We believe that we will win,” and “This is what democracy looks like.”

The protest ran from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and remained peaceful throughout, aside from two brief confrontations involving three counter-protesters. The event was organized by the local group Indivisible Prescott.

The “ICE Out” movement began as a nationwide effort to show resistance to the current immigration enforcement surge, particularly after a series of deadly clashes during Operation Metro Surge in Minneapolis, where federal immigration agents shot and killed two U.S. citizens earlier this month. Those incidents have become a focal point of criticism of ICE and have driven protests and calls for policy change across the country.
