Judy Stahl wants to be the People’s Representative for Arizona House LD1
Judy Stahl, a candidate for Arizona State House Legislative District 1, has been a Prescott resident since 1992. She is a breast cancer survivor, massage therapist, and advocate for the arts and theater. Her broad capacity for dialogue will bring great bipartisan leadership and experience to the administration of the State Capitol.
With experience in forging legislative alliances, which led to her becoming chair of the State Board of Massage Therapy, Judy Stahl believes that affordable healthcare, fully funded public education, and economic prosperity are the foundation for strong communities.
The candidate argues that access to healthcare must be affordable across the board (including mental health) for everyone in Arizona. «» People with pre-existing conditions have access to affordable healthcare, » she says, noting that telemedicine is great and iIt should be expanded so that seniors in our district can have access to specialized care from medical experts who may not have a practice near them.
“I want us to invest more in public health care infrastructure, including proactive preventive care that will avoid the need for expensive procedures in later years and improve quality of life immediately and practically, as well as the expansion of community hospitals . and public health clinics, ”, she emphasizes.
On public education, Stahl explains that spending per pupil in Arizona is one of the lowest in the US. We need to provide secure funding for the future. This means we need to have smaller class sizes, provide the resources that teachers need to help their students be successful, and that there are fair and decent salaries for our teachers. «
«I support Invest in Ed, expanded rural broadband to level the playing field for our rural community school districts and full-day kindergarten with consideration for children who may be special cases,» she says, stating that she supports parents to have a say in what happens with their children’s education. Children do well when they interact with others at school. They need a variety of interactions with their peers to gain a healthy perspective and grow capable of relating to the diversity of people in life. «
On the immigration issue, if elected as a legislator, Judy Stahl indicates that she is in favor of comprehensive immigration reform with a pathway to citizenship and that people be treated humanely. “We don’t need a wall. We need cooperation between Mexico and the United States and transparency in our immigration procedures. If there are problems with our laws, then elect legislators who will change them. «
Candidate Judy Stahl also states: “I care a lot and I want to be a bridge in these difficult times. I am a strong, solid person dedicated to making the world a better place. We need healing and that’s the work I’ve been doing all my life. «
Stahl has leadership experience, experience working with the legislature and with a team as well as long-term commitment to the District, qualifications for the legislative seat she is seeking.
